Ellen Jackson is an opera and theatre director based in the US. In the 2018-2019 season, she joins Westminster Opera Theatre to direct a program of contemporary American opera, including Mazzoli + Campbell’s A FLOURISH OF GREEN, Adamo’s AVOW, Weiss + De Los Santos’ SERVICE PROVIDER, and Bernstein’s TROUBLE IN TAHITI. She made her Opera Delaware debut, directing MAKE A SCENE, a devised game-show featuring excerpts from the inherited repertoire, Opera Delaware’s Young Artists, and a participatory audience. She served as assistant director to Fenlon Lamb for Arizona Opera’s new production of CHARLIE PARKER’S YARDBIRD, and continued her relationship with Metropolis Opera Project, directing THE AIRS REMAIN, a recital for soprano Megan Nielson featuring Strauss’ Four Last Songs and works by Cesti, Resphighi, Chaminade, and Lori Laitman, with performances in NYC and Houston.
Ellen returns to Glimmerglass Festival for their 2019 summer season, assistant directing the world premiere of Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson's Blue.
